POLICY
of combating sexual violence and abuse
Sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) are unacceptable violations of fundamental human rights and are completely contrary to the values of MISSION KHARKIV, which are based on care, respect, integrity, trust and responsibility.
Scope of application:
This Policy applies to all employees, partners, contractors, beneficiaries of the MISSION KHARKIV.
Definition:
Sexual exploitation and abuse of any form against recipients of assistance and other representatives of the local community are considered unacceptable behavior for employees, partners, contractors, beneficiaries of the MISSION KHARKIV.
Sexual exploitation is the fact or attempt to abuse a vulnerable position, power or trust for sexual purposes committed by employees of the MISSION KHARKIV against employees, partners, contractors and beneficiaries to whom the organization provides assistance.
Sexual abuse is the fact or threat of physical acts of a sexual nature with the use of force, coercion or under unequal conditions committed by employees of the MISSION KHARKIV against employees, partners, contractors, beneficiaries to whom the organization provides assistance.
Prohibited activities include, but are not limited to:
- Sexual activity with anyone under the age of 18. Misperception of a child's age is not an excuse.
- Providing money, work, goods, food, assistance or services in exchange for sex or sexual services.
- Using the services of persons in prostitution, even if it is permitted by the laws of the host country.
- Involving a child or adult in providing or procuring sexual services for others.
- Any sexual relationship between those who provide assistance and those who receive it.
- Workers are discouraged from engaging in sexual relationships with individuals with whom they work, as such relationships may be based on significantly unequal power dynamics.
Responsibility:
Employees of the MISSION KHARKIV are obliged to report any concerns or suspicions of exploitation and abuse through the established feedback channels (email: hello@missionkharkiv.com).
CO "CF "Mission Kharkiv" has zero tolerance for violations of the Anti-Sexual Violence Policy, which means that persons who are proven to have violated this policy must be dismissed without the right to be reinstated.
The manager is responsible for creating and maintaining an environment that prevents sexual exploitation and abuse and takes appropriate measures to do so. In particular, the head of the department, office or mission informs his/her employees about the content of this policy against their signature.
